Vineyard Ministry School is establishing a Leadership Community for those leading in various areas in their churches and communities around Aotearoa. 

Participants should be leading in an area of ministry each week in your local context and have a good understanding of the Vineyard context. The programme is designed to fit alongside full-time study in another programme or part time employment.

The programme starts in early February and follows the similar semester dates to the first year. The structure for each semester is:

1. Hui – Wednesday to Sunday (can come before and after and be billeted) 

• Orientation to ‘Leading in Context’
• Belonging in a learning community
• Be, know, do for leading in a ministry area – kids, intermediates, youth, worship, media (plus other areas as the need arises)
• Peer Coaching and Leader Coaching
• Discipling Rhythms 
• Leading in the Vineyard
• Setting up a ministry plan and agreement with your onsite coach
• Setting goals for be, know do

2. Wednesday Classes 

• Leadership classes on topics including vision, calling, Vineyard DNA, being before doing, emotionally healthy spirituality, being lifelong learners, healthy church and power dynamics, crucial conversations, principles and processes of communicating Jesus, philosophy of leadership, launching leaders, growth by teams, bicultural context, outwards focussed church culture, pathways to Jesus, spiritual formation and church planting.

• Ministry Lab with a coach in your key area of ministry (children, intermediates, youth, worship, media, plus more as need arises) to look at the be, know, do of a leader in this area, and to share experiences and growth together.

• Onsite people join in for lunch and Ministry Time. Distance people join online for their own community connection. When your Wednesday class coincides with the first year's block course, your class will be at block course.

3. Learning Seminars

• Develop the skills to lead and train others. As a cohort, plan and put on a mini conference for emerging leaders in the Vineyard.

4. Practice Portfolio

Participants will keep a portfolio of their leadership experiences and complete regular reflections.

Leaders in this community will be serving and leading in their church or community context. You would need an onsite coach who will give you regular feedback on your leadership practice.

In 2027 we plan to have cohorts for kids, intermediates, youth, worship and media, and maybe more areas depending on the need.

Leadership Community participants might serve at a different Vineyard church to their own somewhere around Aotearoa for one term - the whole year. VMS will work with you on helping to define a remote ministry placement.
